  • Will Aluminum Transition Plate Bend On Enclosed Trailer When Loading Heavy Zero Turn Mower?
Good question, Tina - you’re in the safe zone with the M-3 aluminum plate # M348FR. It’s 3/16 inch thick and fully welded across the piano hinge (some cheaper ones are just bolted instead of welded), so even with heavy mowers or small tractors, it won’t flex or deform unless you go crazy with a very heavy tractor or something like that. Only a portion of the mower’s weight ever sits on the hinge at a time, so you’re well within what this can handle. It technically doesn't have a weight...

  • Transition Plate For 7x16 Enclosed Trailer To Roll Carts Over Ramp Door Where It Gets Hung Up
Hey Jeff! Yes, the M-3 steel plate # M368FR is perfect for that setup. It’s about 81-3/4 inch wide, so it’ll span your ramp nicely, and the welded steel with a tread-plate texture gives great traction even if your wheels are wet or muddy. You’ll just bolt it to the bottom edge of the door and it folds down with the ramp for a smooth roll-on. If you want something a little lighter but still sturdy, the aluminum version # M348FR does the same job at about half the weight. If you're in extreme...

  • Is There A Transition Plate For Car Hauler Ramp That Has 2" Tall Lip At The End Of Ramp?
Yep, that’ll still work fine, Joe. Both the Steel # M368FR and the Aluminum # M348FR transition plates are bolt-on and can go on an open trailer - just use through-bolts since you’re mounting into steel. It’ll smooth out that 2-inch lip perfectly and keep smaller tires or casters from hanging up. What kind of car are you loading? That’ll help confirm if you need the steel one for the extra weight.

  • Do Enclosed Trailer Transition Plates Come With Hardware? What Bolts Do I Use?
Hey Corey, good catch - hardware isn’t included with either the # M368FR steel or # M348FR aluminum plates. Most folks just source stainless or zinc-coated hardware locally so they can match what’s already on their ramp. It also depends on the style and thickness of the ramp, so that's why hardware isn't always going to be universal. Pre-drilled holes are already there, so install’s pretty quick once you line it up. I'd use a standard cordless drill or impact which would zip the screws...

  • Plate To Roll Fridge Cart Into 5x10 Concession Trailer With Big Drop Off On Ramp Door edge
Definitely, Renee - either one will fix that gap. For your size trailer, I’d go with the aluminum transition plate # M348FR since it’s lighter and plenty strong for equipment like that. It gives you a nice 14 inch transition area. Are you planning to mount it inside the trailer or at the outer ramp edge? That’ll affect where you line up the hinge. One thing I noticed is that the plate might be too big for your 5 foot wide trailer. You may need to trim the aluminum, so if you're okay with...

  • Plate For Trailer Ramp Edge And Gap Between Floor And Ramp To Allow Wheels To Roll Without Catching
Great idea, Leo - we don’t package the M-3 plates as a set, but you can just grab two of whichever version you prefer. Many folks use the steel plate # M368FR for the exterior edge where it takes more impact and the aluminum plate # M348FR for the inside gap since it’s lighter to lift with the door, but you can use whichever is better for you. What’s the trailer used for, Leo?

  • Plate To Allow Rolling Over Lip Of Trailer Ramp Door - Rustproof Aluminum
I hear you, Matt - that lip is the worst when you’re rolling heavy things over it. Go with the aluminum M-3 plate # M348FR. It’s rustproof, only about 23 lbs, and has a strong tread pattern so that it’s grippy even when it’s slick outside. You’ll never have to paint or touch it up since it's aluminum and not painted steel. What width is your ramp? This plate is 81-3/4" wide, but it can be trimmed to smaller width if you really needed to. Where are you based? If you’re in a coastal or...

  • Can Aluminum Transition Plate Be Bolted To Toy Hauler's Steel Ramp?
Hey Sheila - you can bolt the # M348FR aluminum plate right to your ramp, no spacers needed. Just make sure to use stainless hardware to prevent galvanic corrosion between the aluminum and steel surfaces. I'd also recommend throwing some rust-preventive paint on the steel and hardware parts when putting the plate on your steel ramp. What type of trailer is it, and what do you normally haul? This will definitely help prevent things from getting caught on the ramp door edge/lip and prevent...

  • Transition Plates For Trailer Ramp Door That Is 80-1/2" Wide
Hey Dylan - both M-3 plates measure 81-3/4 inches wide, so you'd need to trim off a little bit. The aluminum one # M348FR would be easier to trim, so I'd pick that over the steel one. The hinge runs the full width so you’ll still get solid support. If you don't want to trim, and you think 7 feet (72") would be enough length, I'd instead go with the Caliber Edge Glide transition plate # CA97EJ which is heavy duty plastic and would work well for you. It's also very lightweight and easy to...

  • Can M3 Enclosed Trailer Transition Plate Be Trimmed To Fit 6-1/2 Foot Wide Ramp Door?
Good question, Chris - yes, both M-3 plates are designed so you can cut them down. Just trim from the outer edge and if you’re using the steel # M368FR, touch up the cut edge with paint to keep it sealed. The aluminum # M348FR doesn’t need that since it won’t rust. Do you already know your door width?

  • Steel VS Aluminum Transition Plate For 7x12 Enclosed Trailer
Good question, Patrick - both do the same job, but here are some differences for you to look at. The # M368FR steel is heavier at 40 lbs and better for constant heavy loads like pallet jacks or commercial carts. The # M348FR aluminum is lighter at 23 lbs and rustproof, great if you’re dealing with rain, mud, or coastal air. So, if you’re mostly loading dirtbikes and yard gear, I’d go aluminum. What kind of climate are you in?

  • Steel Transition Plate For Rolling Pallet Jack Over Gap On Trailer Door Ramp
Hey there Mike; both M-3 plates are built heavy duty, but they don't really have a weight rating. They use a 3/16 inch thick tread plate and come in steel # M386FR or aluminum # M348FR, fully welded with a piano hinge. They’ll take the full load of a pallet jack or rolling toolbox without bending, and the hinge keeps everything smooth. If you’re loading pallets often, I’d lean toward the steel # M368FR for that extra stiffness. What kind of loads are you typically moving?

  • Transition Plate To Bridge 3" Gap On Wells Cargo Motorcycle Trailer
Hey Brandon! Yes, either M-3 transition plate (steel # M368FR or aluminum # M348FR) will do the job, but I’d go aluminum # M348FR since it’s easier to trim and won’t rust if water gets in that recessed area. Just mount it across the lower edge of the door and let the hinge float over that 3-inch. If you were hauling heavier equipment, I'd lean towards the steel for a little more reinforcement, but the aluminum is plenty strong for your setup. What type of motorcycles do you have? I always...
